| Peace Really Does Depend on You |
The solution for worldwide peace has always been there, right under our noses. But it requires more of us than we seem willing to give. Now, with our backs to the wall, we have run out of options. The choice is simple: act or perish.

| Department of Peace Legislation |
I wasn't even aware of Department of Peace legislation until after my son,
Casey Austin Sheehan was killed in the illegal and unjust war on Iraq. It is so
ironic that my son, who modeled his life after St. Francis of Assisi (Let
there be Peace on Earth and let it begin with me) was killed in a war ...

"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder the hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." -- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
How many times must we prove these words? Violence does not lead to peace. Violence does not create peace. Violence cannot co-exist with peace. These are self-evident truths. We cannot indulge war and expect peace.

| The Good News of WorldPeace |
The vast majority of people who read this will not understand it. Others will be afraid of it and even others will laugh at it. Their laughter is the evidence of their ignorance.

| Of Olive Branches, Doves and World Peace |
The olive branch and dove on the wing have been generally regarded as symbols of peace. The olive branch has long been regarded as a gesture of peace. Holding out an olive branch, thus, amounts to a peace offering to an erstwhile foe. What an irony, therefore, to see such widespread hatred and violence in the land of the olive trees!

| Hate Civilized: Derrick Jensen Explores the Culture of Make Believe |
If you could live at any level of technology that you wanted, what would it be? We can fantasize about whatever we want but the only level of technology that is sustainable is the Stone Age. And the only question there is, really, is: What will be left when we get there? How does one find a legitimate entry into discussing the very context of all discussion: culture? How does one attempt to look past or even at the “code” that has governed all that our society has built? Where might one find a mirror that reflects across continents, history and into the abstract world? Lets begibn with hate ...

I confide my feelings to Bubo as if he were a therapist. It's important he get to know me so transference can begin. Occasionally his head nods encouragingly; he doesn't comment because he's a Freudian llama.
